Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' the first artist of female gender on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. She released her first EP with the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she began gaining notoriety. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music on the internet in 2012 after she dropped her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound along with the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes, on Sweat It Out July 21st in 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time and wanted her to perform on Rihanna reference. The official signing ceremony was held by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was her contribution to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance on behalf of J. Cole on his track Change in 2017, and performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox guested on two tracks by EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video for it came out on the 5th. She released her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. Then, on November 13, she released two additional singles entitled One and Pdigree. One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby is a song that she performed alongside Cole on the soundtrack to Creed II on the 16th of November. It then came out as a standalone single in February of 2019 to coincide with the release of her debut album. The 20th of February, 2019, a music clip was made available for the track. It has already received over three million views on YouTube in its first week. In December 2018 she performed on her From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
