Kim Delaney, an American actress, is best known for her character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she was awarded the Emmy Award. She has also starred in series like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney, the only child of an United Auto Workers senior executive and domestic worker was raised by her four brothers and sisters. As a child she was aspired to become an official in the courtroom. After graduating from high school, and moving to New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. Delaney was portrayed as a young innocent in 1981's soap opera All My Children. Since then Delaney has been featured in many TV dramas and films. Her personal life unlike her professional life hasn't had a happy and successful. The talented actress has had to deal with addiction issues in the past as well as two marriages that failed. In 2005 her custody was taken away from her.
